About Soriano

Standing at the foot of central Italy’s Cimini Mountains, in the province of Viterbo and back dropped by the vast wooded Nature Reserve of Lake Vico is the small medieval town of Soriano nel Cimino, which has been home to our family for generations. Its hill top location commands stunning views spanning miles of unspoilt countryside from the Tiber Valley to the Apennines. The town lends itself as a perfect base to explore the beautiful region of Tuscia, less than an hours’ drive north of Rome, 15 minutes from Viterbo and 90 minutes south of Florence, this picturesque town’s central location allows its visitor numerous day trip opportunities to discover this region’s hidden gems.

Known as a weekend retreat by the Romans, Soriano has seen Italians visiting for centuries however it remains relatively undiscovered by the foreign visitor. With a population of just over 8000 and a great variety of local amenities, guests staying at our properties in Soriano can discover a truly authentic part of Italian small town life, by way of shopping for fantastic regional produce in the friendly traditional shops to sampling the mouth-watering local cuisine at several of our excellent restaurants and cafes.
